Born on December 3, 1840, in Chidimar Tola, Latpanganj, Jaunpur, Munshi Kali Prasad held various significant positions, including Pargana Visitor of Jaunpur and Munsarim Settlement officer in Pratapgarh, Unnao, Sultanpur, and Lucknow districts. In 1865, he passed the advocacy examination with first division honors and served in the Awadh court, gaining both fame and substantial wealth. He married Sushila Devi, the third daughter of lawyer Shri Babu Lal from Sipah Mohalla, Jaunpur.
In his quest to promote education, Munshi Kali Prasad founded a committee/trust named Kayastha Pathshala Prayag in 1886, which was registered under the Societies Registration Act. Despite his successful legal career, he left Bahadurganj, Allahabad, in 1873 to establish 'Kayastha Pathshala,' a school that began with just seven students. He dedicated 13 years to teaching at the school before passing away at the young age of 45. To ensure the continuity of his educational mission, he bequeathed all his movable and immovable properties to Kayastha Pathshala Prayag.
